How to Make a Calendar / Event QR Code

Free · Adds to iPhone & Android calendars · No signup

A calendar QR code lets people add your event to their phone with a single scan — the right date, time, and place drop straight into their calendar, no typing and no "wait, was that the 15th or the 16th?" Here's how to make one for free.

Why use a QR code for an event?

The hardest part of promotion isn't getting someone interested — it's getting the details into their calendar before they forget. Every extra step loses people. A calendar QR code collapses it to one scan: the event appears in their calendar app, ready to save, with the date, time, location, and any notes already filled in.

It's perfect for posters, invitations, tickets, flyers, email signatures, and slides — anywhere you're telling people "be here, then."

Great for: conferences and meetups, weddings and parties, webinars, classes and workshops, gigs and shows, open houses, and any event on a printed invite or poster.

How to make a calendar QR code

  1. Open the QRcritter generator and click the Event tab.
  2. Enter the event name.
  3. Set the start (and, if you like, the end) date and time.
  4. Add a location and any details — both optional but helpful.
  5. Customize the colors or logo if you want it to match your invite.
  6. Download the PNG for digital invites, or the SVG for printed posters and tickets.
A note on time: the event saves at the time you enter it, as local time on the scanner's phone. That's usually exactly what you want for an in-person event. Always scan your finished code to confirm the date and time land correctly.
