How to Make an Instagram QR Code

Free · Works on iPhone and Android · No app needed

An Instagram QR code is the fastest way to turn attention into followers. One scan opens your profile — ready to follow — so you never lose someone to a mistyped handle or the wrong lookalike account. Here's how to make one and where to use it.

Why you want an Instagram QR code

Telling people your handle out loud rarely works. They forget it, misspell it, or find three accounts with similar names and follow the wrong one. A QR code removes every step between interest and follow: point, scan, done — they're on your exact profile.

It's the real-world answer to the "link in bio" problem. Wherever people encounter your brand physically, the code carries them straight to Instagram.

How to make your Instagram QR code

  1. Open the QRcritter generator and click the Social tab.
  2. Choose Instagram from the platform dropdown.
  3. Type your username — leave off the @, QRcritter adds the rest so it opens instagram.com/yourname.
  4. Open Customize the look to match your brand: set your colors and drop your logo in the center.
  5. Download the PNG for posts and quick prints, or the SVG for posters and shop windows.
Good to know: because the code encodes your profile link directly, it's permanent and free — no app, no signup, and it keeps working no matter how many times it's scanned.
